February 7: Jerusalem; God’s unique relationship with Israel

King David realized how good God had been to him, and wanted to build Him a place to dwell.

2 Chronicles 7:1

King David was living in his palace, and the Lord had given him peace from all his enemies around him. Then David said to Nathan the prophet, “Look, I am living in a palace made of cedar wood, but the Ark of God is in a tent!”

Because David was a man of war, God refused David’s request, giving Solomon the privilege.  But the Lord did make a promise to David that his family would always continue, an everlasting throne.    That promise was fulfilled in Jesus, Son of David.

PRAY ISRAEL WILL RECOGNIZE JESUS, THE SON OF DAVID.
