September 7: God’s Unique Relationship with Israel

Israel and her Gaza neighbors, under the rule of Hamas, are fighting again, in air, on land and by sea. Hundreds of Palestinians and Israelis have died. Because so many more Palestinians than Israeli have died many nations of the world are ignoring the facts and blaming Israel.

We, who love the Bible and the God of the Bible, must recognize that while the battle is being waged physically, it’s really a spiritual problem.

Therefore I suggest it’s time to review what the Bible tells us about Israel and her unique relationship with God.  Will start at the beginning.

It’s important that we remember that God is God and He does whatever He pleases. And everything He does will always bring Him glory and good to those who know, love, trust and obey Him.

Genesis 3: 1, 6, 14-15

1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

14-15 So the Lord God said to the serpent:

“Because you have done this,
you are cursed more than all cattle,
and more than every beast of the field;
on your belly you shall go,
and you shall eat dust
all the days of your life.

And I will put enmity
between you and the woman,
and between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
 and you shall bruise His heel.”
