I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”and You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
The Hebrew word translated as “confess” יָדַע [yä·dah’] is the same root used for “to know.” Thus to confess is to know, acknowledge and perceive and declare; confession of sin is to agree with God.
Confession is an integral part of the next holy day, the Day of Atonement.
Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, confess over it all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, concerning all their sins.
PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM; THAT ISRAEL WILL ACKNOWLEDGE AND CONFESS PERSONAL AND NATIONAL SIN.
