November 26: Righteousness

Psalm 147:6, 10-11

The Lord lifts up the humble;
He casts the wicked down to the ground.

He does not delight in the strength of the horse;
He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.  The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him,
in those who hope in His mercy.

This passage is a continuation of the Psalm we prayed yesterday.

The strong man or even the “good” man does not impress God.  He looks for those that realize their weakness and their need for His mercy.  Righteousness – right standing before God- comes from God and not from our strength or good deeds.

PRAY THAT ISRAEL WILL PUT HER HOPE IN GOD’S MERCY AND NOT IN ANYONE OR ANYTHING ELSE.
