– A Memorial Blowing
The literal translation of this first holy day is “a memorial blowing.”
“…a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.”
This is the only feast for which God does not give a reason for its celebration. All we know is that it is a ‘memorial.’ So we must ask, “A memorial for what?” Since all His feasts commemorate an event in Israel’s history AND are fulfilled in the ministry of Yeshua, that’s where we’ll look to find our answer.
The only event in Yeshua’s life that was not specifically fulfilled on a feast is His birth. Therefore I suggest that the miraculous event in Israel’s history that is to be celebrated on the Feast of Trumpets is the Incarnation of Messiah Yeshua.
Just as the silver trumpets were blasting and the angels were singing, the Savior and King of Israel was born!
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM AND PRAY ISRAEL WILL RECOGNIZE THE DAY OF HER VISITATION
