-Bar Kochba Revolution
The split between the Jewish people became a gap in 135 AD.
Rome had promised to rebuild the Temple and allow them more freedom, but that never happened. Instead, the oppression had grown intolerable so the Jews revolted, again. The 2nd Roman/Jewish war was led by Simon Bar Kochba*. A leading Rabbi proclaimed that Bar Kochba was the Messiah!
Of course, the believing Jews could not participate in the revolt if it meant following Bar Kochba. They knew that only Yeshua was the Messiah. By refusing to fight, the rejection by the rest of the Jewish was complete.
And Jesus, answering them, began to say: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many.” (NKJV)
The Jews gained much territory but then lost everything. They were expelled from the land, and many went into slavery.
The Jewish Zealots retreated to the mountaintop of Masada and fought valiantly. After 2-3 months, using Jewish slave labor, the Romans finished building a rampart and were about to storm Masada. Rather than defeat at the hands of the Romans, the Jews committed suicide, leaving only one person to tell the story.
Renounce the lie:
In Yeshua’s name I renounce and break the power of the lie and expectations of the Jewish people that the messiah will be a political leader.
Replace with the truth:
The angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” (NKJV)
