May 14: The Nations – The US Embassy

This day was chosen to make the historic move of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.  The move was chosen to align with the 70th anniversary of Israel’s independence on May 14, 1948. However, because Israel functions on the Julian rather than the Gregorian calendar the actual anniversary was April 19th!  That gives us two days to celebrate!

Not all the residents of Israel are celebrating.

In “Palestinian” neighborhoods, the residents are calling the next day, May 15th ,“Nabka” or the Day of Catastrophe.” Nabka was started in 1998 by Yassar Arafat.

PRAY FOR THE PROTECTION OF ALL THE RESIDENTS OF ISRAEL ON THIS DAY.
