March 3: Israel’s restoration

Today, the nation of Israel has been revived.  After the Romans expelled the Jews from the land, although there was always a small remnant, the land became desolate. Over the years it was inhabited by various nations but eventually it was a barren wasteland.

The Jewish people in Europe themselves were almost annihilated by the horrors of the Holocaust, becoming a remnant of dry bones.

But at the end of the 19th century God’s promise through Ezekiel began to be fulfilled.

There is much more to be fulfilled so we can apply God’s message to Ezekiel and begin to prophesy and pray over the land and the people.

Ezekiel 37:1-4

The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry.  And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”

So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.”

 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!
