So many of God’s promises seem to be dependent on Israel obeying His commandments. Since it appears that much of Israel continues in disobedience there are some who contend that Israel does not belong [yet] in the land.
But exactly how do we apply God’s commandments to our lives today? This question is hotly debated among Jewish sects and scholars.
Once the Temple was destroyed it became impossible to follow Torah completely. Instead traditions based on an “oral” law came into existence.
BUT all this negates the promise of God recorded in Jeremiah 31:31, that God would give Israel a NEW COVENANT…. adherence to this New Covenant (Brit Hadesha in Hebrew) is what God requires of Israel and all who would follow Him.
Thus Israel’s existence in the Land today is fulfillment of that and all the other of God’s promises.
Isaiah 58: 11-12: The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
Those from among you shall build the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.
