The psalmist mentions three mountains: Sinai, Bashan and Zion. Sinai was holy because God’s manifested presence met with Moses and gave Israel His commandments.
The Mountain of Bashan was covered with beautiful forests.
But Zion was superior. For Mount Zion, the Mountain of the Lord, is the place where He chose to dwell.
Zion was, is and ever will be the desire of the whole earth. Blessed are those who come to worship on Mount Zion.
A mountain of God is the mountain of Bashan;
A mountain of many peaks is the mountain of Bashan.
Why do you fume with envy, you mountains of many peaks?
This is the mountain which God desires to dwell in;
Yes, the Lord will dwell in it forever.
The chariots of God are twenty thousand,
Even thousands of thousands;
The Lord is among them as in Sinai, in the Holy Place.
PRAY THE GOVERNMENT OF ISRAEL WILL UNDERSTAND AND HONOR THE HOLINESS OF THE CITY.
