When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.
This verse seems to bring together Israel’s deliverance from Egypt (at the cost of Egypt’s destruction), her later exile from her land and her future return.
Isaiah uses three names of God to reveal God’s continued protection of Israel: the “Lord your God,” the “Holy One of Israel” and the most beautiful “Savior”.
PROCLAIM GOD’S PROMISE TO PROTECT ISRAEL IN AND THROUGH ALL CIRCUMSTANCES.
