July 12: God is Israel’s Protector

When Sennacherib, King of Assyria, threatened Hezekiah, King of Judah, Hezekiah made the right decision.  Hezekiah chose to trust in the Lord God of Israel and went to the prophet Isaiah for prayer.

The second time Sennacherib tried to invade Israel, Isaiah didn’t have to seek the Lord again; the first time was enough. Yes the Assyrians would try to invade, but God would turn them around and “send them back.”

Isaiah 37:28-29

“But I know your dwelling place,

Your going out and your coming in,

And your rage against Me.

Because your rage against Me and your tumult

Have come up to My ears,

Therefore I will put My hook in your nose

And My bridle in your lips,

And I will turn you back

By the way which you came.”’

PRAY ISRAEL WILL TRUST THE LORD GOD FOR HIS PROTECTION.
