January 17: God’s unique relationship with Israel

For thousands of years, the enemies Israel have tried to conquer and take the land of Israel for themselves.  But they will ultimately fail.  The land belongs to the God of Israel; He chose this piece of earth as His dwelling place.

God’s covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob promised their descendants that they would possess and protect the land for Him.

The only time God allows the land and the people to be separated is when He needs to displace Israel for their disobedience.  But He will not allow any other nation to touch them.

Psalm 132:10-14

For Your servant David’s sake,

Do not turn away the face of Your Anointed.

The Lord has sworn in truth to David;

He will not turn from it:

“I will set upon your throne the fruit of your body.

If your sons will keep My covenant

And My testimony which I shall teach them,

Their sons also shall sit upon your throne forevermore.”

For the Lord has chosen Zion;

He has desired it for His dwelling place:

 “This is My resting place forever;

Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.

PRAY FOR YOUR CHURCH AND FOR YOUR NATION TO ACCEPT GOD’S CHOICE OF JERUSALEM AS GOD’S HIS ETERNAL DWELLING PLACE.
