January 16: The nations

King David was both a worshiper and a warrior.  Because he shed so much blood, God would not allow David to build His Temple.  Instead David made all the arrangements, money and plans, for his son Solomon.

Psalm 132: 5-9

Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah;

We found it in the fields of the woods.

Let us go into His tabernacle;

Let us worship at His footstool.

Arise, O Lord, to Your resting place,

You and the ark of Your strength.

Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness,

And let Your saints shout for joy.

Eventually David’s dream came true and today we see many come to Jerusalem to worship God even before the temple is rebuilt.

But today nations are still trying to reject Jerusalem as the place God has chosen for Himself.  The attempts of these nations will only result in their failure and destruction; Israel will rebuild the temple.
