February 6: Christian Anti-Semitism – Christian Zionism

Christian Zionism

In 1897 Theodore Herzl organized the First Zionist Congress to consider how to establish a home for the Jewish people. The only acceptable location was the land God promised to Israel.

As a result of the Conference, Arthur Balfour a devout Christian, used his influence as Britain’s Foreign Minister to issue the Balfour Declaration in 1917.  The Declaration promised that Britain would facilitate the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people.

Complications immediately arose because the Declaration did not specify boundaries and borders for the Jewish home-land thus inciting controversy, between Jews and Arabs which continues to this day.

Zechariah 8:23

“Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”’” (NKJV)
