February 3: Jerusalem; God’s unique relationship with Israel

God chose to put His name over Jerusalem.  Therefore, it is no surprise that this is the most fought over land in the world.  But there is a tiny piece of Jerusalem that is THE jewel, the Temple Mount.  For it is in this place that all nations will come to worship God.

Deuteronomy 12:5-6

“But you [David] shall seek the place where the Lord your God chooses, out of all your tribes, to put His name for His dwelling place; and there you shall go.  There you shall take your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand, your vowed offerings, your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks.

1 Chronicles 22:1-4

Then David said, “This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.” So David commanded to gather the aliens who were in the land of Israel; and he appointed masons to cut hewn stones to build the house of God.  And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails of the doors of the gates and for the joints, and bronze in abundance beyond measure, cedar trees in abundance; for the Sidonians and those from Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.

Note that both Jews and Gentiles worked on the building of the Temple!

PRAY FOR THE ISRAEL TO STAND FIRM AGAINST ALL PRESSURE TO KEEP JERUSALEM AND THE TEMPLE MOUNT HOLY AND UNDIVIDED.
