In these chapters, Paul’s argument moves between the question and the answer. Because these questions are still being asked today, his answers are relevant.
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
An unspoken question between this and the next verse is, “Did Israel hear the Gospel in a contextual way so that they understood?” In other words, is this an issue of hearing or understanding?
Paul actually had answered that question already.
When those who have been sent by God proclaim the Gospel message, it will bear fruit. The problem is often that the message is not from God, but is the opinions, interpretation or traditions of the speaker.
PRAY THAT ISRAEL WILL HEAR THE PURE AND POWERFUL GOSPEL.
