February 12: Righteousness/Redemption and salvation

The second time the prophet Isaiah described the coming Messiah as a stone, was to contrast God’s way of righteousness, redemption and salvation with Israel’s way.

Israel had been desperately trying to find help by making covenants with other nations. But God considered those covenants, “Covenants of Death” which one day He would destroy, leaving Israel helpless and hopeless.

Isaiah 28:16-19

Therefore thus says the Lord God:

“Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation,

A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation;

Whoever believes will not act hastily.

Your covenant with death will be annulled,

And your agreement with Sheol will not stand;

When the overflowing scourge passes through,

Then you will be trampled down by it.

As often as it goes out it will take you;

For morning by morning it will pass over,

And by day and by night;

It will be a terror just to understand the report.”

True security can only come from faith in the God of Israel. Only the New Covenant in Yeshua can bring righteousness, redemption and salvation.

PRAY FOR ISRAEL TO FIND HOPE, HELP AND REST IN THE PRECIOUS CORNERSTONE, YESHUA.
