August 27: God’s righteousness

Nehemiah recognizes that the condition of Jerusalem is a reflection of Israel’s rebellion, yet he can pray for God’s help because of their relationship with God.  But then his prayer must include his recognition and repentance for sin.

Nehemiah 1:5-7

And I said: “I pray, Lord God of heaven, O great and awesome God, You who keep Your covenant and mercy with those who love You and observe Your commandments, please let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open, that You may hear the prayer of Your servant which I pray before You now, day and night, for the children of Israel Your servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel which we have sinned against You. Both my father’s house and I have sinned.  We have acted very corruptly against You, and have not kept the commandments, the statutes, nor the ordinances which You commanded Your servant Moses.

RENOUNCE THE LIE

“Israel has become an apartheid state, occupying territory belonging to the Palestinian Arabs.” (Stephen Sizer — Anglican vicar of Christ Church in Surrey, England.)

REPLACE WITH THE TRUTH

TRUTH: Citizenship.  Some accepted the offer and some didn’t.  Walk into any hospital in Israel and you will see Muslims, Orthodox or secular Jews being treated exactly the same!

PRAY THAT ALL WHO LIVE IN ISRAEL, BOTH JEWS AND NON-JEWS WILL ATTACH THEMSELVES IN FAITH TO THE GOD OF ISRAEL AND HIS MESSIAH.
