God chose Israel to be His witness so the nations would know, love and trust Him. To be His witness was not only to bring His Word and His Messiah to the nations, but also to be an example and reflection of His character.
When Israel obeyed God, He blessed her. But when she rebelled against His Law and rejected His love, He brought discipline and even punishment. How He treats Israel is to be an instruction to the nations of His perfect justice.
“Listen to me, my people;
hear me, my nation:
Instruction will go out from me;
my justice will become a light to the nations.
My righteousness draws near speedily,
my salvation is on the way,
and my arm will bring justice to the nations.
The islands will look to me
and wait in hope for my arm.” (NIV)
PRAY FOR YOUR CHURCH AND FOR YOUR NATION TO BE INSTRUCTED BY PERFECT JUSTICE.
